Monk-Imperial Prince Gyoin (尭胤法親王)

Monk-Imperial Prince Gyoin (1458 - 1520) was the Monk-Imperial Prince from the middle of the Muromachi period to Warring States period. His father was Fushiminomiya Imperial Prince Sadatsune, the son of Fushiminomiya Imperial Prince Sadafusa.

He became a priest at Kyoto Sanzen-in Temple in 1468. He was adopted by Emperor Gohanazono, and announced as the Monk-Imperial Prince in 1471. He took the post of head priest of the Buddhist Tendai sect in 1493, and devoted himself to rebuilding the burned-out Konponchudo (hall temple hall) located on Mt. Hiei.
